Music students, at any age must LOVE their music lessons. This is vitally important if you want students to keep on coming back and paying you for their lessons. Achievement for some is the outcome, and for them to enjoy it they must achieve highly. For others, achievement is not the primary outcome, and they may have other reasons or other motivations that really will push their buttons and make them enjoy it. For children, incorporating Music Theory Games will really help inspire and motivate them. Children need lots of motivation, and just little bits over and over again really won’t cut it. They need consistent effort, and the only way to get consistency is to build in incentives that make them practice, therefore make them want to come back to lessons. Its only after you can get these motivation factors going that you can really get children loving the music for music’s sake. That is the goal, but it does take time to get there.
